Job summary

Zum Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Driver Trainer to join our team in Shawnee, KS. The role focuses on training new and existing bus drivers, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and maintaining safe transportation for students.

Responsibilities include classroom and behind-the-wheel training, ongoing evaluations, drug/alcohol testing programs, and on-scene incident reporting. Requires CDL with P/S endorsements and trainer certifications, plus strong communication and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years driving experience in a passenger vehicle.
• Possess all valid state licenses and other required certifications to operate company vehicles (state varies).
• Possess all valid state licenses and required certifications to train and evaluate school bus drivers (state varies).
• Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations related to student transportation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.

Responsibilities

• Proactively recruit individuals to apply and train them to become School Bus Drivers.
• Provide classroom instruction and behind the wheel training of applicants and bus drivers to ensure successful completion of training and testing; recommend upgrades as necessary.
• Provide ongoing training and performance evaluations for all driver employees.
• Administer and maintain Company random drug/alcohol testing and pre-employment drug/alcohol testing program in conjunction with the corporate office.
• Develop and conduct regularly scheduled driver safety meetings.
• Respond to personal injury and vehicle accidents by on-scene investigation and submitting reports to the corporate office.
• Investigate customer service complaints relative to safety issues and take corrective action.
• Drive a school bus on designated routes.
