Job summary

Plano ISD Transportation Services seeks a Transportation Services/Safety Trainer to train and coach drivers and assistants, operate routes, excursions, and shuttles in a safe, efficient manner aligned with district goals. The role emphasizes classroom and on-road instruction, safety procedures, and collaboration with the transportation team.

The trainer will develop materials, conduct exams, oversee paperwork for certifications, and ensure adherence to traffic laws and district policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Texas CDL license class A/B with endorsements P and S (required).
• Texas Bus Driver certification (required).
• Driving record must be insurable with Plano ISD's carrier.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-road training for drivers and assistants.
• Collect and review data for performance evaluations.
• Prepare classroom materials and conduct classroom training, including bus certification exams.
• Assist with in-service planning and activities.
• Write reports, training forms, and manuals.
• Ensure proper certification paperwork (physical results, road tests, refresher training).
• Maintain safe driving practices and communicate with transportation office.
