Job summary

DSV Air & Sea Inc. seeks a Health & Safety Assistant to support the Health and Safety Manager in ensuring employee safety and regulatory compliance.

You will help with safety audits, training, incident investigations, and safety reporting, collaborating with staff to promote a safe workplace.

This role offers an hourly base pay range of $18.75–$22.00, with room for growth based on experience and location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health and safety, or a related field.
• OSHA 30-hour General Industry or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience in a safety-related role in the transportation and logistics industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret data.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other software applications related to safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Health and Safety Manager in developing, implementing and maintaining safety programs, policies, and procedures
• Conduct safety audits, inspections and assessments to identify and address safety hazards and risks
• Assist in investigating safety incidents, accidents and near misses, and prepare reports on findings and recommendations
• Assist in the development and delivery of safety training programs to employees
• Maintain safety records and databases, and prepare safety reports for management
• Keep up to date with changes in safety regulations, laws and standards, and communicate these changes to management and employees
