Job summary

SkyChefs is hiring a Safety Clerk in Seattle to monitor driver safety, ensure SOP adherence, and support operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will maintain driver files, process identifications, and support Ramp Safety with clerical duties. 3–5 years of safety experience and a valid driver’s license are preferred; the SIDA badge and CBP seal must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain SIDA badge and CBP Seal within 30 days.
• 3–5 years of safety experience preferred; ramp experience may substitute.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and other applications.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Train drivers on SOPs and re-train as needed.
• Update and maintain driver files.
• Process Port Authority/Customs identifications.
• Ensure truck registrations, inspections, and Insurance IDs are current.
• Ensure drivers follow A-1 Inspection procedures.
• Assist Ramp Safety Supervisor and perform clerical duties.

Role Purpose Statement

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Clerk to join our team.

This is a field-based role responsible for monitoring driver compliance with established SOPs and partnering with operations teams to ensure adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

The Safety Clerk will also assist in maintaining a safe work environment by monitoring employee safety practices, conducting safety observations, and supporting safety initiatives throughout our facilities.

Main Accountabilities

• Responsible for SOP training for all new drivers and re-training of drivers
• Responsible for updating and maintaining all driver files
• Processing of all Port Authority/Customs identifications
• Ensure all State inspections, registrations and Insurance ID’s for trucks are current
• Responsible for ensuring all drivers adhere to A-1 Inspection procedures
• Assist the Ramp Safety Supervisor as needed and perform other clerical duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain Airport SIDA badge and CBP Customs Seal within 30 days of hire
• 3-5 years of safety experience preferred; AOA ramp experience may be substituted year for year for Safety experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and other computer applications
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with large groups – must be flexible
• Open availability, ability to work nights and weekends as operations require
