Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the health and safety field within a manufacturing environment.
• Associate's degree or two-year technical training with 1 year related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have computer skills in applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Good understanding of OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Identify unsafe conditions and document corrective actions.
• Monitor safety inspections and analyze exposure data.
• Perform safety audits and inspections as directed.
• Investigate unsafe acts/conditions and injuries.
• Coordinate safety committee meetings and trainings.
• Educate employees on safety through meetings and newsletters.
• Procure safety equipment and PPE as needed.
• Collaborate with supervisors and contractors on safety for capital projects.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and GMPs.
• Compile data and generate safety reports.
• Participate in plant teams as leader or scribe.
• Adhere to food safety and product quality guidelines.
