Job summary

La Vida Llena in New Mexico is seeking a Safety Aide to maintain a safe, secure community across our campus. You will observe, monitor, and report on safety issues, screen visitors, and perform rounds using surveillance and alarm systems in a not-for-profit Life Plan Community.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in building or grounds security or a related field.
• Knowledge of alarm and communication systems; able to report to Police/Fire departments.
• Ability to complete forms accurately and maintain logs and reports.
• Formal self-defense training or experience.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification on hire or within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide general safety and security through observation, monitoring, and reporting.
• Perform gatekeeper duties screening residents, guests, vendors, contractors, visitors.
• Conduct periodic patrols of common/public areas, on foot or by vehicle.
• Monitor surveillance, fire alarms, and emergency call systems; respond to alarms.
• Assist during emergencies, provide staff escorts after hours, maintain logs and reports.

Overview

Our welcoming campus offers resort‑style amenities and a full continuum of care including Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing. We are seeking a Safety Aide to support a safe and secure community through observation, reporting, and resident‑focused service.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide general safety and security through observation, monitoring, and reporting to promote a safe and secure environment across the community.
  
• Perform gatekeeper duties by screening and directing residents, guests, vendors, contractors, and visitors as needed.
  
• Conduct periodic patrols of common and public areas, on foot or by vehicle, and check security functions during rounds.
  
• Monitor surveillance equipment, fire alarm systems, and emergency call systems, responding to alarms and escalating issues appropriately.
  
• Assist during resident or employee emergencies, provide staff escorts during non‑regular business hours, maintain accurate logs and reports, and perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: $15.38 - $18.58 / hr DOE

About You:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in building or grounds security, or a related field.
• Knowledge of alarm and communication systems and ability to communicate with Police and Fire departments.
  
• Ability to complete forms accurately and maintain detailed logs and reports.
  
• Formal training or experience in self‑defense methods.
  
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification upon hire or within 90 days of hire.
