Job summary

SMG is seeking a Safety Advisor – Construction in Rock Hill, South Carolina to join a data center project with a mechanical contractor. The role requires strong field safety leadership, site observations, and reporting with a focus on regulatory compliance and incident response.

The position runs six days a week, ten hours daily, with per diem options. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of construction safety experience, CHST/BSCP certification, and a related degree.

Qualifications

• Five plus years of construction safety experience.
• BSCP CHST certification is required.
• Degree in safety or related field preferred.
• First-aid/CPR certification from ARC or AHA.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction certification.

Responsibilities

• Site safety observations and documentation of findings.
• Create reports, run safety metrics, and use safety software.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis.
• Represent contractor in progress meetings.
• Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures by law, Owner, and contractors.
• Conduct New Hire Orientations and safety meetings.
• Provide incident management and support.
• Documentation and report preparation.
• Conduct contractor program reviews.

SMG seeks a Safety Advisor – Construction in Rock Hill, South Carolina – Day Shift - Per diem is available

The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in a construction environment on a data center site with a mechanical contractor. This project is scheduled to last for a year. This person will be working 6 days a week. 10 hours per day.

Overview of Job Responsibilities

• Site safety observations, including documentation of findings
• Must be able to create reports, run safety metrics, and use other software programs
• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis
• Represent the contractor in progress meetings
• Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner, and contractors
• Conduct New Hire Orientations and safety meetings
• Provides incident management and support
• Documentation and Report preparation
• Conducts Contractor program reviews

Requirements

• Five plus years of construction safety experience
• BSCP Cert - CHST is a MUST
• Previous experience with a mechanical contactor overseeing pipe work
• A degree in safety or related fields is preferred
• First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
• OSHA 30-hr Construction
