Job summary

Safety Management Group, LLC in Lafayette, Indiana is seeking a Construction Safety Advisor to lead safety oversight on a roofing construction project and coordinate with the contractor team. You will perform site safety observations, generate reports and metrics, conduct Job Hazard Analyses, lead safety meetings, and support incident documentation.

Three plus years of construction safety experience, fall protection experience, OSHA 30 Construction, and a safety-related degree are preferred;

• Previous fall protection experience
• A degree in safety or related field is preferred
• First-aid/CPR certification from a recognized agency
• OSHA 30-hr Construction certification preferred

SMG seeks a Safety Advisor – Construction in Lafayette, Indiana – Per diem is available

The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in a construction environment providing safety oversight while roofing sections are taken out and upgraded with new steel.

Overview of Job Responsibilities

• Site safety observations, including documentation of findings


• Must be able to create reports, run safety metrics, and use other software programs


• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis


• Represent the contractor in progress meetings


• Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner, and contractors


• Conduct New Hire Orientations and safety meetings


• Provides incident management and support


• Documentation and Report preparation


• Conducts Contractor program reviews

Requirements

• Three plus years of construction safety experience


• Previous fall protection expereince


• A degree in safety or related fields is preferred


• First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association


• OSHA 30-hr Construction

Physical Demands of the job may include

• Moving about long distances


• Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders


• Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period


• Working in extreme weather


• Being exposed to loud noises
