Job summary

Safety Management Group (SMG) is seeking a Construction Safety professional to support Construction and General Industry clients with safety training, site observations, and program development.

The role involves assisting in OSHA inspections, travel to client sites, and creating safety documentation. A degree in safety and 3+ years of field experience are required, with CHST preferred.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of construction safety experience.
  • Experience performing site safety audits or observations.
  • Experience reviewing or developing safety programs.
  • Experience conducting machine guarding assessments.
  • Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedural development.
  • Experience with safety software.
  • Experience providing training.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate with other staff members.
  • Degree in safety or related field.
  • Professional and positive attitude to encourage safety compliance and awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services to Construction and General Industry clients, including safety training, site observations with reports, injury record‑keeping assistance, meeting attendance, and written safety program review and development.
  • Prepare and proofread written safety programs for General Industry and Construction clients.
  • Assist clients during OSHA compliance inspections and attend conferences as needed.
  • Travel to client locations as necessary.
  • Provide flexibility in the schedule when offering services to clients.
  • Provide coverage for other SMG groups.
  • Conduct training sessions at client sites, offices, training facilities, or trade association locations.
  • Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures required by law, owner, or contractor.
  • Attend pre‑construction planning and safety meetings.
  • Provide incident management and support.
  • Keep management informed of activities.
  • Document and prepare reports.

Overview of Job Responsibilities
  • Provide services to Construction and General Industry clients, including safety training, site observations with reports, injury record‑keeping assistance, meeting attendance, and written safety program review and development.
  • Prepare and proofread written safety programs for General Industry and Construction clients.
  • Assist clients during OSHA compliance inspections (accompany compliance officers, attend opening and closing meetings, and help prepare and attend informal conferences).
  • Travel to client locations as necessary.
  • Provide flexibility in the schedule when offering services to clients.
  • Provide coverage for other SMG groups.
  • Conduct training sessions at client sites, offices, training facilities, or trade association training locations.
  • Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures required by law, the owner, or contractor.

Physical Demands
