Safety Management Group, LLC seeks a Safety Advisor – Construction in Caledonia, Michigan, for day shift work on a data center site. Per diem is available. The role emphasizes on-site safety leadership within a civil construction environment and collaboration with a GC on civil work.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years in construction safety, strong certifications, and the ability to generate safety reports and metrics. Travel and a team-focused mindset are required.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of construction safety experience.
• BSCP/CHST or higher certification.
• Seven years mission-critical construction safety with CSP or CHST preferred or required.
• Ten years progressive field safety experience on mission-critical projects.
• A degree in safety or related field is preferred.
• First-aid/CPR certification (Red Cross or AHA).
• OSHA 30-hour Construction.

Responsibilities

• Site safety observations and documentation of findings.
• Oversee civil contractor activities on-site.
• Create reports and safety metrics; use safety software.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis.
• Represent the contractor in progress meetings.
• Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, Owner, and contractors.
• Conduct New Hire Orientations and safety meetings.
• Provide incident management and support.
• Documentation and report preparation.
• Conduct contractor program reviews.

SMG seeks a Safety Advisor – Construction in Caledonia, Michigan – Day Shift - Per diem is available

The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in a construction environment on a data center site with a GC doing a lot of civil work. This person will be working 5 days a week. 10 hours per day.

Overview of Job Responsibilities

• Site safety observations, including documentation of findings
• Oversee civil contractor
• Must be able to create reports, run safety metrics, and use other software programs
• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis
• Represent the contractor in progress meetings

Requirements

• Seven plus years of construction safety experience
• BSCP Cert - CHST or higher
• Seven (7) years mission critical construction safety experience with CSP or CHST certification, OR
• Ten (10) years progressive field safety experience on mission critical projects
• A degree in safety or related fields is preferred
• First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
• OSHA 30-hr Construction

Physical Demands of the job may include
