Job summary

Airlock Digital is seeking an engineering manager to lead the SaaS team. Own the technical direction and delivery of our cloud platform, ensuring performance, security, and a quality customer experience. You will guide architecture across web apps, APIs, and data processing, and manage engineers across multiple countries.

Foster ownership, mentor growth, and partner with SRE/DevOps for safe releases. Ideal candidates have 8+ years building production software, strong distributed systems

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, building, shipping production software including cloud services or SaaS products.
• Experience guiding teams across backend services and modern web applications with architecture tradeoffs.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, data‑intensive apps, scalability and failure recovery.
• Experience building secure cloud applications with tenant isolation, authentication/authorization and data protection.
• At least three years managing a software engineering team with coaching and hiring responsibilities.
• Principal‑level technical leadership setting direction and aligning decisions with business needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication across time zones and teams.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Set the SaaS platform's technical direction and architecture with clear ownership of service boundaries and reliability.
• Lead engineers across countries and career levels, with mentoring, hiring, and career development.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, architectural decisions and investigations.
• Balance delivery with security, reliability, performance, and maintainability, collaborating with SRE/DevOps.
• Improve documentation, testing, automation, observability, and secure development practices.
• Lead customer and production investigations and turn failures into lasting improvements.
• Coordinate with product, QA, SRE, DevOps, security, support and customer teams to deliver outcomes.
