Essential Functions
- Instructs students in proper use, care, and safe handling of equipment.
- Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicates these objectives to the students.
- Provides individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual abilities, attitudes, and cultural backgrounds.
- Teaches students to work collaboratively to solve problems and to think logically and creatively.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students in a variety of ways on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
- Maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
- Communicates with parents and administrators on students' progress.
- Collaboratively develops and implements cross-curricular student projects with colleagues in other content areas.
- Keeps updated on current research in STEM/STEAM advances and provides information to administration for discussion on updating the STEM curriculum.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with students, staff, and parents through oral and written communication.
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education.
- Supervises students in and out of classroom as assigned.
- Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs.
- Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Ability to lift 20lbs and move 50lbs
- Frequent sitting, walking, talking, bending, lifting, and stooping required.
- Vision abilities including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Occasional travel to various school locations required.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an environment where unusual temperature, noise, and hazards are relatively non-existent.
Terms Of Employment
- Nine-month work year (185 days)
- Twelve sick days
- Four personal days
- FLSA Exempt
- Salary based on Collective Bargaining Agreement
Performance Evaluation
Performance of the position will be evaluated with provisions set by the Board of Education as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
