Silverado Veterinary Hospital in Napa, CA seeks a Registered Veterinary Technician to support inpatient hospital care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of veterinary technician experience with active CA RVT licensure and proficiency in anesthesia, surgical assistance, dental radiography, venipuncture, and client communication. This is a full-time role with a 5/8 schedule, Saturdays monthly, and occasional Sundays.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience.
• Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in California.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring.
• Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Surgical assistance and aseptic technique.
• Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography.
• Venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Radiology positioning and safety protocols.
• Medication administration and accurate drug calculations.
• Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing.
• Effective teamwork and professional communication skills.
• Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning.
• **Recent graduates pending VTNE testing or out-of-state license transfer encouraged**

Responsabilités

• Providing attentive inpatient care, including monitoring hospitalized patients, administering medications and IV fluids, and supporting ongoing treatment plans
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
• Assisting with surgical procedures, including patient preparation, surgical setup, and instrument handling
• Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography. Experience with extractions is preferred.
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
