Registered Veterinary Technician - Surgical & Inpatient Care

Napa, CA

Silverado Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team and support inpatient hospital care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing nursing, client communication, and hands‑on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.

In this position, you will play a key role in both inpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing attentive inpatient care, including monitoring hospitalized patients, administering medications and IV fluids, and supporting ongoing treatment plans
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
• Assisting with surgical procedures, including patient preparation, surgical setup, and instrument handling
• Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography. Experience with extractions is preferred.
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety in their day, are confident moving between exam room and procedure support, and want to fully utilize their clinical knowledge, technical skillset, and client communication abilities in a collaborative general practice environment.

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $ 30 - $33 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position with a 5/8 schedule and availability required for 1-2 Saturdays per month and an occasional half-day on Sundays

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
• Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California **
• Proficiency in the following skills:
