Qualifications

• Six or more years of backend or systems engineering, with at least three years writing production Rust.
• Deep, practical async Rust experience: tokio, futures, trait and generic design, lifetimes, Send and Sync reasoning.
• Hands‑on experience with blockchain or distributed ledger internals: consensus protocol, transaction validation, state storage, or node‑to‑node networking.
• Applied cryptography fundamentals: digital signatures, hashing, key derivation and custody.
• Experience designing and evolving service APIs, ideally gRPC and Protocol Buffers with versioned clients.
• Comfort operating Docker, Kubernetes and Helm, metrics‑driven debugging, and production incident root cause analysis.
• A testing discipline that covers unit, integration, and simulation‑level testing of concurrent/distributed code.
• Clear technical writing: design notes usable by teams and bank engineers.

Responsibilities

• Consensus and the ledger core: Pala‑family BFT, block production, finality, RocksDB storage, snapshots.
• Cryptography and key custody: Ed25519 signing, threshold and shard custody, KMS/HSM integration, SGX/Nitro enclaves.
• Programmable money: the expression language, compiler, and bytecode VM for access control and transfers.
• Ledger APIs and SDKs: gRPC services, Protocol Buffers, REST gateways, multi‑language clients.
• Indexing and observability: streaming ledger data to ClickHouse and Postgres, Prometheus metrics, tracing.
• Correctness engineering: deterministic simulation, fault injection, fuzzing, and model checking.
