Executive Recruiting Agency, LLC seeks a Backend Software Engineer to design and maintain high-performance Rust-based backend systems for a crypto trading platform in New York, NY. You will work on REST/WebSocket APIs, real-time data pipelines, and distributed components.

The role requires 2-4 years of backend experience, strict Rust production experience, and on-site work five days/week. Fintech and crypto exposure preferred, with strong concurrency and low-latency focus.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Professional production experience with Rust is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience with Tokio or similar Rust asynchronous frameworks.
• Experience building low-latency, real-time, or high-throughput backend systems.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, asynchronous programming, and distributed systems.
• Experience developing REST APIs, WebSocket APIs, or streaming data services.
• Experience in cryptocurrency trading, fintech, electronic trading, high-frequency trading or blockchain infrastructure.
• Experience working with relational, time-series, and key-value databases.
• Previous professional startup experience is required.
• Experience completing personal software engineering projects, preferably using Rust or C.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Must be available to work on-site five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems using Rust.
• Build and optimize REST APIs, WebSocket APIs, and real-time data pipelines.
• Develop backend systems that support cryptocurrency trading, risk management, and liquidation processes.
• Process live market data and optimize systems for fast, reliable trading execution.
• Build and maintain distributed systems, including blockchain state machines and asynchronous workflows.
• Develop concurrent applications using Rust and Tokio.
• Manage and optimize relational, time-series, and key-value databases.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and improve system speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on system architecture, development, and production support.
