Job summary

FIS is seeking a Senior Rust Engineer for the Keystone distributed ledger at the New York area. You will work close to the metal on consensus, cryptography, state storage, and correctness engineering, and help build gRPC services, SDKs, and integration patterns used by bank customers.

You will design and optimize the ledger's APIs, ensure robust testing, and collaborate in a small, senior team focused on end-to-end service ownership.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of professional backend or systems engineering.
• Deep, practical async Rust development experience.
• Hands-on experience with blockchain or distributed ledger internals (consensus, state storage, or node networking).
• Applied cryptography fundamentals (signatures, hashing, custody).
• Experience designing APIs with gRPC/Protocol Buffers and versioned clients.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to consensus and ledger core components (RocksDB storage, finality, snapshotting).
• Implement cryptography and key custody features (Ed25519, AWS KMS, HSM integration).
• Develop and support ledger APIs and SDKs (tonic gRPC, REST gateways).
• Build observability with ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, tracing.
