Job summary

Payward Services seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and scale Rust services powering trading, payments, and crypto experiences. You will own end-to-end systems, ensure security-first design, and collaborate across teams within a high-performance engineering culture.

You will work with a broad range of Rust engineers, designing robust libraries, and contributing to distributed architectures that move money and assets safely at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficient in writing network services or asynchronous code in Rust.
• Security-first mindset during system design to ensure robustness.
• Autonomously debug issues across the stack (OS, network, application).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and technologies, including RPC protocols, Kafka, and Event-Driven Systems.
• Collaborate with product teams to gather requirements and constraints for designing appropriate systems.
• Take complete end-to-end ownership of systems and libraries.
• Provide mentorship to other engineers while contributing to defining the technical culture.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust Rust services and libraries powering trading, payments, and crypto experiences.
• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code that scales across teams and supports revenue-critical systems.
