Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Rust Developer to design, build, and optimize high-performance distributed systems, low-latency backend services, and cloud-native infrastructure components. You will help develop mission-critical enterprise platforms where performance, reliability, security, and scalability are essential.
In this full-time, direct W-2 position, you will collaborate with platform engineers, distributed systems architects, DevOps teams, and product engineering groups. Your work may include scalable APIs, asynchronous processing pipelines, networking services, and infrastructure automation tools. The project environment spans cloud-native services on Kubernetes, event streaming, job scheduling, identity systems, observability, and backend platforms supporting high request volumes.
This position is 100% remote within the United States. The annual salary range is $145,000–$205,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Candidates with U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, employment authorization, or H-1B transfer eligibility are encouraged to apply. The company is unable to sponsor new H-1B visa petitions for this position.
Applicants should have at least six years of professional software engineering experience, including three or more years developing production applications with Rust. Strong knowledge of Rust fundamentals—including ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits, generics, and macros is required, along with practical experience building asynchronous applications using Tokio, async/await, and Futures. Experience with frameworks such as Axum, Actix, Warp, or Rocket is valuable.
Qualified candidates will bring a strong understanding of concurrent programming, multithreading, synchronization, operating systems, and networking. Experience developing REST APIs and gRPC services, working in Linux production environments, and building cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is expected. Candidates should also have SQL experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server, and familiarity with NoSQL technologies such as Redis, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or MongoDB.
Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, or Pulsar is important. Strong debugging, profiling, benchmarking, and performance optimization skills are needed. Experience in Agile teams is expected. Exposure to Terraform or Pulumi, service meshes, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, cryptography, Rust systems tools, C/C++ interoperability, or open-source Rust projects is an advantage.
Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance Rust services for large-scale distributed systems. Build low-latency APIs, event-driven microservices, asynchronous processing services, and networking applications using protocols such as TCP, UDP, HTTP/2, gRPC, WebSockets, or QUIC. Develop resilient, highly concurrent applications and help ensure services meet availability and fault-tolerance requirements.
Optimize CPU and memory utilization, thread scheduling, and end-to-end performance. Integrate backend services with messaging systems and databases, and implement secure APIs and authentication using standards such as OAuth2, JWT, OpenID Connect, and mTLS. Improve observability through structured logging, distributed tracing, and performance monitoring. Participate in architecture discussions, system design, code reviews, and production support. Partner with DevOps colleagues on CI/CD and infrastructure automation, and investigate complex issues involving networking, concurrency, memory, and distributed systems.
This opportunity offers a competitive annual salary range of $145,000–$205,000, full-time direct W-2 employment, and the flexibility of a fully remote U.S.-based role. You will contribute to technically challenging, enterprise-scale systems while collaborating with experienced engineering teams. Bright Vision Technologies also offers the opportunity to grow your expertise and career within an established technology organization. Specific benefit plan details may be discussed during the hiring process.
