Job summary

Hyperliquid is seeking an exceptionally strong systems engineer to design, implement, and optimize the protocol stack, including consensus, execution (HyperCore and HyperEVM), and API servers. You will also build financial and trading primitives on the L1, requiring high performance and rigorous coding standards.

The ideal candidate has competitive programming background, proficient Rust skills, and can work in-person at the office.

Qualifications

• Very strong systems engineering ability in a complex codebase, with emphasis on correctness and performance.
• Interest in performance optimization and efficient design choices.
• Strong first principles thinker with clear problem-solving approach.
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Competitive programming experience (IOI, ICPC) or similar high programming ability.
• Experience with Rust programming language.
• Able to work in-person

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize all layers of the Hyperliquid protocol stack (consensus, execution, API).
• Design and implement financial and trading primitives on the Hyperliquid L1.
