Job summary

Arapahoe Libraries seeks a Reference Librarian for Davies Library in Deer Trail, collocated with the Deer Trail School district. The role focuses on youth/intergenerational programming, strong community ties, and daily operations support across school and public library settings.

Responsibilities include welcoming patrons, assisting with technology and research, mentoring staff, and serving as a point of contact when needed, all while advancing equity and literacy in a rural community.

Qualifications

• MLIS or current pursuit with plan to complete within 3 years.
• Bachelor's degree completed.
• Experience providing great customer service to diverse patrons.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 apps and familiarity with Teams.
• Ability to work independently and support teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead programs that engage youth and reflect community interests.
• Support evening and weekend events and school partnerships.
• Develop relationships with teachers and school leaders.
• Coordinate teen volunteers and monitor program quality.
• Welcome visitors and provide friendly service at desks and on the floor.
• Assist patrons with research, technology, and materials selection.
