Job summary

Arapahoe Libraries is hiring a Reference Librarian at the Davies Library in Deer Trail to connect people with ideas, resources, and one another. This role emphasizes welcoming spaces, service, and collaboration with staff and volunteers.

You will support after-school programming, mentor staff, and act as a bridge between the school library and the public library, helping patrons of all ages access information and technology.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in library science or two years library experience with MLIS planned within three years.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience delivering great customer service with diverse patrons.
• Intermediate Microsoft 365 skills; familiarity with Teams; willingness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work independently and support teams across the library district.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead programs for community engagement.
• Support evening and weekend events; connect with schools and partners.
• Build relationships with teachers and school leaders.
• Coordinate teen volunteers.
• Welcome visitors; assist patrons with technology and materials.
• Support district-wide initiatives like Summer Reading.
• Open/close the library; assist scheduling and coverage.
• Mentor staff; promote professional growth.
• Create a positive team environment and model excellent service.
• Stay curious; learn new tools and share knowledge.
