Job summary

Arapahoe Libraries is seeking a Branch Supervisor to lead daily operations at Davies Library in Deer Trail, Colorado. The role focuses on supporting staff, delivering welcoming experiences, and serving the community through thoughtful leadership and collaboration with local partners.

The supervisor will balance operations, staff growth, customer relations, and district priorities while ensuring excellent service and fostering a culture of equity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Two years of similar or related experience in library service or customer service.
• 0-2 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience teaching, training, or mentoring others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate practical leadership, problem solving, adaptability, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to keep confidential information.
• Ability to travel between facilities.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work independently and show initiative.
• Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, Outlook), Edge, and Teams; willingness to learn new technologies.
• Curiosity in library technology and online resources; ability to learn alongside patrons.
• Ability to communicate new ideas, products, and services positively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily library operations and allocate resources to support efficient branch operations.
• Troubleshoot facility and equipment concerns; coordinate with other departments as needed.
• Create staff schedules ensuring appropriate coverage and service quality.
• Provide direct patron assistance and support collection maintenance as needed.
• Maintain relationships with local partners (e.g., Deer Trail School).
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop employees.
• Monitor performance, coach, and support professional growth.
• Manage scheduling, timekeeping, assignments, and department operations.
