Job summary

Vogrinc Search Group is seeking a Psychiatrist for a rural Eastern Oregon Critical Access Hospital in La Grande. This permanent, full-time role offers four 10-hour days, day shift, and relocation assistance.

You will conduct psychiatric evaluations, oversee pharmacological treatments, and collaborate with Primary Care and Behavioral Health teams to provide a comprehensive, patient-centered approach. Epic EMR is used for charting.

Qualifications

• MD degree from an accredited medical school.
• ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency.
• Active, unrestricted State Medical License.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry.
• Commitment to high-quality care in a community-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and follow-up care for a diverse rural patient population.
• Oversee pharmacological treatments and monitor patient progress to ensure therapeutic efficacy and safety.
• Partner with Primary Care providers and Behavioral Health specialists to provide a 'whole-patient' approach to health.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic mental health conditions (e.g., depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use disorders).
• Serve as a subject matter expert for the behavioral health team, contributing to workforce training and the development of clinical protocols.
• Utilize Epic EMR for timely and accurate clinical charting.
• Provide consultation within the Level IV Trauma Center environment when psychiatric expertise is required for acute patient stabilization.
• Participate in community-based initiatives to reduce the stigma of mental health and improve access to care in the region
