Job summary

Lewis County Hospital District No. 1 seeks an HIM Manager to lead the health information management functions in a rural CAH. You will oversee medical coding, medical records, and document management, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and timely billing.

The role partners with Revenue Cycle, Compliance, IT, and Finance to support reimbursement and compliance. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in health information management or related field and active RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Active RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or equivalent certification.
• Strong knowledge of CAH regulations, HIPAA, and revenue cycle workflows.
• Familiarity with Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) programs.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in HIM and/or medical coding.
• Experience in rural CAH environment preferred.
• Experience with Cerner CommunityWorks EHR preferred.

• Provide leadership and supervision to HIM staff.
• Ensure staff orientation and in-services.
• Project and coordinate staffing to meet departmental needs.
• Maintain current qualifications and competencies.
• Conduct timely performance evaluations.
• Communicate the organization’s vision and strategic plan.
• Foster teamwork and cross-department collaboration.
• Monitor department budget and resources.
• Develop and monitor quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and proper record retention.
