Job summary

The specialist will guide on HL7 v2, C-CDA/CCD exchanges, and provider workflows, collaborating with EHR vendors and health IT teams to resolve

Qualifications

• Experience with Electronic Health Record platforms (Epic, Cerner/Oracle Health, Allscripts/Veradigm, or NextGen).
• Proficiency with interoperability standards (HL7 v2, C-CDA, CCD, FHIR, USCDI).
• Experience validating structured clinical data and troubleshooting EHR integration issues.
• Ability to interpret clinical workflows and map them to data exchange requirements.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead rural provider onboarding to NC HealthConnex, guiding organizations and EHR vendors through connection requirements and exchange services.
• Assess EHR capabilities, interface configurations, and data extraction workflows to identify readiness gaps.
• Coordinate with NC HIEA teams to support integration tickets and address data ingestion or transformation issues.
• Provide guidance on interoperability standards and troubleshoot message structure, vocabulary, and transport methods.
• Review provider submissions for adherence to interoperability expectations and data quality.
