Job summary

Noblis MSD is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support NIWC PAC development. The role focuses on designing ruggedized mechanical systems for COTS electronics, producing detailed drawings, and coordinating with government engineers and sponsors.

Candidates should have a mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience, proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and the ability to read technical documentation to MIL-STD standards. A security clearance is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering OR an Associate's Degree + 3 years of experience OR High School Diploma + 6 years experience.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Must be proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend technical documentation, schematics and diagrams in accordance with ANSI, ASME, GD&T, and MIL-STD-31000 standards.
• Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze ruggedized mechanical systems for commercial off the shelf (COTS) electronics
• Develop and maintain Technical Data Packages (TDPs) to ensure technical accuracy and verify that all technical requirements are satisfied
• Provide advice and guidance to government engineers regarding design, fabrication, operation, and maintenance or repair of ruggedized mechanical enclosures
• Provide engineering support for the planning, procurement, and production of rack mounted network systems
• Perform trade studies and participate in equipment selection
• Establish energy and heat load budgets with the objective of identifying current deficiencies, anticipating future requirements, and estimating factors to be included in network system design
• Provide technical expertise and support for testing and troubleshooting hardware systems
• Actively participate in problem solving, continuous improvement, and demonstrate strong dedication to quality and communication.
