Job summary

Noblis MSD in San Diego, CA seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support NIWC PAC development. You will design ruggedized mechanical systems for COTS electronics and create detailed drawings, coordinating with government engineers and program sponsors.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical Engineering background,Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), and the ability to work with ANSI/ASME/GD&T standards. A security clearance or ability to obtain one is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an Associate's Degree with 3+ years experience or High School Diploma with 6+ years experience
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend technical documentation, schematics and diagrams per ANSI, ASME, GD&T, and MIL-STD-31000 standards
• Secret clearance or ability to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze ruggedized mechanical systems for COTS electronics
• Develop and maintain Technical Data Packages (TDPs) to ensure technical accuracy
• Provide guidance to government engineers on design, fabrication, operation, and maintenance of ruggedized enclosures
• Support planning, procurement, and production of rack-mounted network systems
• Perform trade studies and participate in equipment selection
• Establish energy and heat budgets to inform network system design
• Provide technical expertise for testing and troubleshooting hardware systems
• Contribute to problem solving, continuous improvement, and quality/communication
