Job summary

Edison Smart® in Livermore, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own the full development cycle of rugged defence hardware. You will design rugged hardware for defence applications, perform FEA analyses, support prototypes and testing, and iterate designs based on test results.

As part of a cross-disciplinary team, you will collaborate with electrical, manufacturing and systems engineering to ensure hardware operates in harsh environments. Eligible for Security Clearance is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience designing rugged mechanical hardware in defence, aerospace or space.
• Practical FEA experience with the ability to complete your own analysis.
• Experience moving products through design, prototyping, testing and field validation.
• Broad mechanical engineering experience rather than a narrow specialty.
