Job summary

Iperium is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails) to balance hands-on coding with ownership of architecture and engineering standards. You’ll drive technical direction within an agile pod, building scalable features for our SaaS platform and mentoring teammates.

You will lead design decisions, review code, and collaborate with Product and UX to translate requirements into robust software. Strong RoR and SQL experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Ruby on Rails in production SaaS environments.
• 2+ years of SQL experience in a production setting.
• Experience building Single Page Applications (SPAs).
• Strong track record in hands-on technical leadership and architecture decisions.

Job description

Lead Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails) | SaaS

This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who wants to remain close to the code while taking greater ownership of architecture, engineering standards and technical direction.

You’ll work within an agile development pod, building and scaling core features across a SaaS platform while helping the wider engineering team deliver high-quality, maintainable software.

What you’ll be doing

• Writing high-quality, production-ready code
• Leading technical design and architecture decisions
• Building and scaling core SaaS platform functionality
• Reviewing pull requests and providing meaningful technical feedback
• Troubleshooting complex issues across the stack
• Working closely with Product and UX to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Breaking larger initiatives into deliverable engineering work
• Managing technical trade-offs around scalability, maintainability and delivery
• Mentoring and supporting engineers within your pod
• Representing your team in wider technical discussions
• Driving engineering best practices across the development lifecycle
• 5+ years of Ruby on Rails
• 2+ years of SQL
• Experience building Single Page Applications
• Strong experience developing production software in a SaaS environment

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

You do not need experience with everything listed above.

Experience building AI-powered solutions using technologies such as LangChain or Amazon Bedrock would be useful, but isn’t essential.
