Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation in Illinois is seeking a Mill/Barwell operator to process parts and materials to required job standards. You will handle milling, Barwell setup and prep, and operate the cold feed extruder and small mill as needed while maintaining a safe, efficient production line.

You will need at least 1 year of manufacturing experience, good communication skills, and the ability to read work instructions.

Qualifications

• 1 year manufacturing experience required.
• Solid work history required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions required.
• Previous material handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
• Must be fully trained in Mill rescue.
• Mill various types of rubber components for the molding department.
• Report any processing problems to Quality Manager or Supervisor immediately.
• Complete Barwell Set ups as per work instructions.
• Extrude prep and complete weight verifications as per specification in work instructions.
• Use forklift to access materials from warehouse.
• Maintain compound number identify through all phases of the manufacturing process.
• Supply prepped rubber to the molding department. Maintain zero down time to no materials.
• Report all scrap material to QC.
• Correct or report all discrepancies or changes in work instructions to the QC Manager or supervisor.
• Monitor tooling conditions and report wear/damage to Maintenance Department as required.
• Correct or report any safety hazards to supervisor.
• Must be able to use computer to access work instructions.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
• Work effectively with all team members to provide a continuous flow of product throughout the production system.
• Perform all assigned tasks to the best of your ability to become a valuable contributing member of the team.
• Work with the team to schedule your vacation, only one person can be on vacation at the same time.
