Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a Mill/Barwell operator at our Woodridge, IL site to process parts and materials to job specifications. The role involves milling/barwell material processing, operating a cold feed extruder and a small mill, and contributing to an efficient team.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe work area, performing mill set ups, extruding prep, reporting issues, operating a forklift, and ensuring quality through weight verifications and instruction compliance.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of manufacturing experience required.
  • Solid work history required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions required.
  • Previous material handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
  • Must be fully trained in Mill rescue.
  • Mill various types of rubber components for the molding department.
  • Report any processing problems to Quality Manager or Supervisor immediately.
  • Complete Barwell Set ups as per work instructions.
  • Extrude prep and complete weight verifications as per specification in work instructions.
  • Use forklift to access materials from warehouse.
  • Maintain compound number identify through all phases of the manufacturing process.
  • Supply prepped rubber to the molding department. Maintain zero down time to no materials.
  • Report all scrap material to QC.
  • Correct or report all discrepancies or changes in work instructions to the QC Manager or supervisor.
  • Monitor tooling conditions and report wear/damage to Maintenance Department as required.
  • Correct or report any safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Must be able to use computer to access work instructions.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work effectively with all team members to provide a continuous flow of product throughout the production system.
  • Perform all assigned tasks to the best of your ability to become a valuable contributing member of the team.
  • Work with the team to schedule your vacation, only one person can be on vacation at the same time.

Physical Requirements:
  • The person in this position usually spends approximately 60% of their time standing, 10% walking and 30% bending or crouching/stretching.

  • Pay Range: $19.04/hr to $21.02/hr
