Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree qualified (or equivalent).
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with EDA tools for simulation and synthesis, such as Mentor Graphics ModelSim, Altera Quartus, Xilinx Vivado, Synopsys DC, or Cadence Genus.
• Experience with AXI interfacing.
• Experience with timing and hardware resource optimisation for high-throughput data or signal-processing applications.
• Experience using C/C++/MATLAB for design and verification prototyping.
• Experience with version control and peer review, e.g. Git.
• Experience with technical documentation tools, e.g. Confluence.
• Experience with project and task management tools, e.g. Jira.

Responsibilities

We are specifically seeking a Design Engineer with 4+ years of relevant industry experience to contribute to the development of advanced hardware solutions, with a broad skillset and the ability to work across IP, system, and board-level development.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential:

• Degree qualified (or equivalent)
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience
• Experience with EDA tools for simulation and synthesis, such as Mentor Graphics ModelSim, Altera Quartus, Xilinx Vivado, Synopsys DC, or Cadence Genus
• Experience with AXI interfacing
• Experience with timing and hardware resource optimisation for high-throughput data or signal-processing applications
• Experience using C/C++/MATLAB for design and verification prototyping

• Experience with technical documentation tools, e.g. Confluence
• Experience with project and task management tools, e.g. Jira

Desirable:

• Experience maintaining EDA tools, including upgrades and licence management
• Experience creating innovative engineering solutions and documenting them through publications or patents
• Experience with automation and CI tools, e.g. Jenkins
• Knowledge of communications signal-processing algorithms, ideally including error correction, equalisation, channel estimation, beamforming, or another baseband component
• Appreciation of mobile communications systems
• Understanding of the telecommunications and/or semiconductor industries
