West Coast, United States, fully remote, permanent
About the role
Our hardware team is scaling quickly to keep pace with growing customer demand, and we're looking for Design Engineers to join us for this next stage of growth. You'll contribute to advanced IP for next generation wireless communications technology that is already in active use today.
This is a hands on, high ownership position within a lean, focused engineering group. Your work will have a direct and visible impact on what we ship, not something you'll find in a large, siloed organization.
What you'll do
- Take on a range of tasks across the project as needed to help the team hit its goals
- Work alongside colleagues on architecture, design, development, verification, and documentation of our core IP
- Write RTL for communication focused electronics systems using SystemVerilog
- Build out testbenches to validate those RTL implementations
What we're looking for
- Real, hands on industry experience, we look at depth and capability over years on paper. A standout candidate coming straight out of a rigorous, design focused master's program may also be a fit
- Working knowledge of industry standard EDA tools for digital simulation and synthesis
- Experience with on chip bus interfacing standards
- A track record of optimizing timing and resource usage for high throughput digital or signal processing designs
- Comfort prototyping in C, C++, or Matlab for both design and verification purposes
- Good habits around version control and code review
- Clear, usable technical documentation practices
- No specialized communications or domain background required. What matters most is deep, hands on RTL design experience and the ability to speak in real detail about a design you took from start to finish, the tradeoffs, the hard parts, and how you solved them.
Nice to have
- Experience keeping EDA toolchains running (license management, upgrades)
- A history of documenting original technical work, whether through patents or publications
- Comfort building automated workflows or pipelines
- Background in signal processing concepts relevant to modern communications systems
- General familiarity with mobile or wireless communications technology
- Exposure to the broader telecoms or semiconductor space
What you'll bring
- A self starter mindset and a genuine drive to solve hard problems
- Someone who works well with others and leaves behind documentation and practices that make the next person's job easier
- The ability to build trust quickly with the people you work with, internally and externally
- Strong communication skills, written, spoken, and in front of a room
- Annual performance based bonus
- Retirement plan with company match
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Equity
- Flexible hours, fully remote
