Job summary

Vibra Healthcare, LLC is seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist to join the Rehabilitation and Critical Care Hospital of the Black Hills in Rapid City, South Dakota. The hospital features 36 inpatient rehabilitation beds and 18 LTAC beds, delivering comprehensive care under one roof.

Responsibilities include delivering efficient patient care per policy, operating respiratory care equipment, and assisting with maintenance and inventory.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Respiratory Therapy program is required.
• Active license to practice as an RT (RRT or CRT) in SD is required.
• Current Vibra-approved BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor due within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, quality‑oriented patient care within the department's policy/procedure.
• Set up, operate and maintain respiratory care equipment for diagnosis and treatment.
• Perform equipment maintenance, changes, inventory and related support tasks.

Located in Rapid City, South Dakota, the Rehabilitation and Critical Care Hospital of the Black Hills is equipped with 36 inpatient medical rehabilitation beds and 18 long‑term acute care beds. As a new cornerstone of specialized care in the region, our hospital uniquely combines two levels of care under one roof. This integrated approach allows us to offer comprehensive care solutions for patients who’ve suffered a range of debilitating injuries, illnesses, surgeries, and chronic medical conditions. At the Rehabilitation and Critical Care Hospital of the Black Hills, we are dedicated to delivering advanced treatments and compassionate care to help our patients recover and regain their independence.

Responsibilities

Responsible for providing efficient, quality‑oriented patient care within the scope of the department’s policy/procedure manual. Performs support activities such as equipment maintenance, changes, inventory, and sets up and operates various types of respiratory care equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness.

Required Skills

• Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program required.
• Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist in the state of employment required.
• Current BLS certification from a Vibra‑approved vendor required.
• ACLS certification from a Vibra‑approved vendor required within six (6) months of hire.

Additional Qualifications/Skills

• One (1) year critical care and/or artificial airway and ventilator care experience preferred. Ability to project a professional image.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
• Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
