Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide direct patient care in line with physician orders and to consult on therapy effectiveness. The role also serves as a key resource for physicians and nursing in respiratory care.

Position includes a sign-on bonus and a 36-hour weekly shift. Education and licensure requirements reflect standard RCP credentials with NBRC RRT and ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by NBRC. For ER, PALS is required.
• Other: Physical demands include push/pull/grip up to 50 lbs; kneel, crouch, crawl.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in respiratory therapy per physician orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned.
