Job summary

UF Health Central Florida is seeking a Respiratory Therapist who works under the direction of the Director/Manager to apply respiratory therapy in line with the American Association of Respiratory Care guidelines, ethics and professional conduct.

You will perform patient assessments, implement, deliver and evaluate respiratory therapy according to care plans and collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required with some college, technical training, or an Associate degree preferred.
• Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist license/registration is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification is required.
• PALS certification is required.
• NRP certification is required.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.

Overview

The Respiratory Therapist acts under the direction of the Director/Manager, utilizing Respiratory therapy processes based on American Association of Respiratory Care Guidelines, Statement of Ethics and Professional Conduct: facilitating patient care with the healthcare team, making respiratory assessment, implementing, delivering and evaluating the patient’s respiratory therapy needs.

Qualifications

• Education: - High School Diploma/GED (required) with some college, business, technical training, or Associates of Science Degree (preferred)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist/RRT Licensure/Certification/Registration: - Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist
• - BLS
• - ACLS
• - PALS
• - NRP
• Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required: - Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
• - As applicable RCP staff assigned to maternal-child services will be required to have NRP and PALS certification. Therapist hired without NRP or PALS will have 90 days to obtain their NRP and PALS certification.
