Job summary

UF Health seeks a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to support patient care under the direction of the Director/Manager. You will perform assessments, implement and evaluate respiratory therapy needs in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Current Florida RRT licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and English proficiency required; NRP for maternal-child services where applicable, with a 90-day window to obtain if missing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; some college or an Associate degree preferred.
• Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure/certification.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• NRP training may be required for maternal-child services, with 90 days to obtain if missing.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.

Overview

The Respiratory Therapist acts under the direction of the Director/Manager, utilizing Respiratory therapy processes based on American Association of Respiratory Care Guidelines, Statement of Ethics and Professional Conduct: facilitating patient care with the healthcare team, making respiratory assessment, implementing, delivering and evaluating the patient’s respiratory therapy needs.

Qualifications

• Education:
• High School Diploma/GED (required) with some college, business, technical training, or Associates of Science Degree (preferred)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist/RRT Licensure/Certification/Registration:
• Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• NRP Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
• As applicable RCP staff assigned to maternal-child services will be required to have NRP and PALS certification. Therapist hired without NRP or PALS will have 90 days to obtain their NRP and PALS certification.
