Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for full‑time night shifts. The role requires direct patient care, medical therapies under physician orders, and collaboration with physicians and nursing staff. NICU rotation is included in the training plan.

The ideal candidate holds an NBRC-registered RRT credential, a current RCP license, and ACLS/PALS as appropriate. Mercy emphasizes team care and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of a CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Certifications: NBRC-registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); PALS for ER.
• Other: Physical demands include push/pull/grip up to 50 lbs and mobility.
• Equipment: Use of all appropriate respiratory care devices.
• Preferred Education: ACLS certification.
• Preferred Experience: Critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Acts as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff.
• All RTs train on and rotate to NICU as assigned.
