Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for night shifts (12-hour). The role is in the Respiratory Therapy department within a 250-bed not-for-profit regional referral hospital.

Sign-on bonus of $15,000 is available for qualified candidates, with pay transparency noting a range from $33.15 to $44.62 per hour. The position requires active licensure as an RCP and NBRC RRT certification or timely completion, plus BLS, ACLS, and often PALS certifications.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from NBRC or obtained within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC upon hire and maintain
• ACLS certification from AHA or ARC upon hire and maintain
• PALS certification from AHA or ARC upon hire and maintain or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification preferred.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Two years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician.
• Focus on assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care considering patient age and population needs.
• May be identified as Lead RCP in the absence of a supervisor, with responsibility for the section or department during the shift.
