Job summary

Piedmont Newton Hospital in Covington, GA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide adult and neonatal respiratory care, perform assessments, and manage equipment. The role includes patient and family education and close collaboration with the Labor and Delivery team.

Qualified candidates hold an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, current RRT and state licensure, plus BCLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS upon hire. Sign-on bonus available, and a supportive leadership culture.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
• Previous neonatal respiratory care experience or department orientation with validated skills required.
• RRT certification and state licensure required upon hire; BCLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and neonatal/adult respiratory therapy procedures.
• Maintain and manage respiratory equipment and educate patients and families.
• Conduct blood gas analysis and interpretation; support Labor and Delivery neonatal care.

Responsibilities

Performs patient assessments, general and critical care respiratory care procedures, respiratory care for newborns in Labor and Delivery, blood gas analysis and interpretation, maintenance and management of equipment and patient and family education in both adult and neonatal areas.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences Required

Work Experience

• Previous Working Experience in Neonatal Respiratory care, or successful completion of department specific orientation including skills validation of competencies for the duties and responsibilities of this level Required

Licenses and Certifications

• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care and licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners Upon Hire Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• ACLS Upon Hire Required and
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Upon Hire Required
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Required
