RRT: Critical Care Respiratory Therapist

Job summary

Mercy seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner to perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory therapy under physician orders. You will consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness and act as an advanced resource for the care team, performing duties as assigned. Education/licensure requirements include CoARC-approved program, current RCP license, and NBRC RRT.

PALS is required in the ER; ACLS preferred. Physical tasks include lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current state licensure and a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
• PALS required for ER team members.
• ACLS certification preferred; critical care experience preferred.
• Able to perform physical tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physician orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned.
