Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is hiring a Right of Way (ROW) Agent in Worcester, Massachusetts for a part-time, 20-hour weekly limited-term role (12 months, extendable). The candidate will negotiate land acquisitions, prepare rights-of-entry documents, and ensure compliance with safety policies.

The role requires 3+ years ROW experience, proficiency with MS Office, Google Earth, ArcGIS, and travel flexibility. IRWA membership is a plus and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of ROW experience.
• IRWA membership a plus.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office, Google Earth, ArcGIS.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate land acquisitions with owners or their designees.
• Settle complex damage claims related to construction with landowners or designees.
• Search courthouse records to determine present ownership and interests.
• Assist in establishing fair market values for land acquisitions.
• Draft and supervise documents for rights of entry, contracts, easements, licenses, leases and permits.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
• Travel regionally as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
