Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking a Right of Way professional in the Boston area to conduct complex negotiations with land owners and assist in settling damage claims arising from construction.

You will search records to confirm ownership, advise on fair market values, and draft essential documents for rights of entry, easements, licenses, leases and permits. A real estate license and Notary may be required, with regional travel expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• IRWA membership a plus.
• Active real estate license preferred.
• Notary public or ability to obtain within 30 days required.
• Travel regionally.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism.
• Valid Drivers License.
• Must meet criteria identified in Job Demands & Conditions Analysis for Office and Field Positions.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with land owners and designees on diverse and complex matters.
• Settle complex damage claims related to construction with land owners or designees.
• Search courthouse and other records to determine present property ownership and interests.
• Advise on fair market values for acquiring land and land rights.
• Draft and/or supervise documents for rights of entry, damage claims, contracts, easements, licenses, leases, permits, options to purchase and other necessary documents.
• Ensure compliance with corporate health and safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
