Job summary

ERM is hiring a Right-of-Way Agent to support Central and Northern New Jersey projects. The role focuses on land acquisition, title reviews, licenses, leases, and permits for electric and gas infrastructure, with travel to sites within the state.

This full-time, 12-month limited-term position is remote/hybrid with local travel, offering exposure to a major sustainability-focused consultancy and opportunities to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring compliant rights

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years ROW transmission experience.
• Proficient with PC, MS Office, Google Earth, ArcGIS.
• Knowledge of real estate values.
• Able to work in remote locations for long periods.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication.
• Must meet criteria identified in Job Demands & Conditions Analysis for Office and Field Positions.
• Physical ability to stand/walk long hours on uneven terrain and in variable weather.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with landowners.
• Conduct site visits as needed.
• Review Title and Service Easement Exhibit.
• Liaise between internal and external stakeholders.
• Search courthouse and records to determine ownership and extent of interest.
• Advise and assist in establishing fair market values for land acquisitions.
• Draft or supervise documents for rights of entry, easements, leases, licenses, options, and other documents.
• Comply with health and safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
