Performance Optimal Health in Norwalk, CT, is seeking an engaging Rowing Instructor to lead high-energy, technique-driven classes that combine cardio, strength, and endurance. You will coach proper rowing form, pacing, and performance, delivering structured workouts while fostering a motivating, inclusive class environment.

The role requires a current group fitness certification or rowing-specific credentials, CPR/AED, and the ability to motivate a wide range of fitness levels.

Qualifications

  • Current group fitness certification preferred (ACE, AFAA, NASM, or similar) or equivalent.
  • Rowing-specific certifications (Concept2 Instructor, UCanRow2 Indoor Rowing, or US Rowing Level 1/2) are valued.
  • CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
  • Strong understanding of rowing mechanics, stroke sequence, and pacing strategies.
  • Ability to coach proper form and provide real-time feedback in a group setting.
  • Experience programming interval-based and endurance-style workouts.
  • Confident, clear communication and strong presence on the floor or mic.
  • High energy with the ability to motivate a wide range of fitness levels.
  • Reliability and professionalism with a commitment to scheduled classes.
  • Prior rowing or coaching experience preferred, but not required.
