Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks a Nutrition Services Worker/Roving Technician to assist in preparing and serving meals at school sites or the central kitchen. You will support the Nutrition Services team under supervision to ensure timely, safe meals for students.

Responsibilities include food preparation, inventory, data entry at POS, operating kitchen equipment, and training of NS Trainees. A basic ability in food handling and teamwork in a school setting is essential.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of preparing and serving food.
• Completion of a Safeschools course within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for student meals and line service.
• Input data at POS and food service computer programs.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation per district guidelines.
• Operate and clean commercial kitchen equipment.
• Set up serving equipment and carts for meals.
• Assist with training NS Trainees and student workers.
• May supervise and assign duties to student workers.
• May travel to different sites as a Roving Worker.
