Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Roving Maintenance Technician to support our client portfolio in the Northfield/Faribault area. The ideal candidate has 2 years of residential maintenance experience, can manage multiple tasks, and is self-sufficient.

This contract-to-hire role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, with on-call duties after conversion. Salary ranges from $24 to $27 per hour depending on DOQ, with 90 days before conversion and a focus on organization and dependable performance.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in residential maintenance.
• Experience with unit turns.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance tasks.
• Self-motivated with ability to organize multiple tasks daily.
• Able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Carry out job assignments and work orders promptly and courteously.
• Perform routine maintenance inspections and tasks (batteries, bulbs, furnace filters, locks, caulking).
• Track, manage, and perform general repairs.
• Complete light remodeling (painting, carpentry, sheetrock).
• Light plumbing and electrical work.
• Inspect and maintain interior/exterior building components.
• Place orders for parts with Property Manager’s approval.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Assist with unit turnover and on-call support.

Job description

Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Roving Maintenance Technician to join one of our long-term client’s team and help support their portfolio in the Northfield/Faribault area. The ideal candidate will have 2 years’ experience in residential maintenance, have experience with unit turns, have knowledge of basic maintenance, be self-motivated, be able to organize multiple tasks throughout the day and is self-sufficient. This role is contract to hire (90 days before conversion).

Schedule

Monday - Friday: 830AM – 430PM. On-call will be applicable after conversion.

Salary

$24-$27/hour DOQ.

Responsibilities and Job Duties

• Ensure job assignments and work orders are carried out promptly, efficiently, courteously, and in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance inspections and tasks such as replacing batteries, bulbs, furnace filters, locks, and caulking etc.
• Track, manage, and perform general work order repairs
• Complete light remodeling tasks such as painting, basic carpentry, and sheetrock
• Lite plumbing and electrical work
• Inspect and maintain all interior and exterior building components on a regular basis
• Place orders for parts and material with Property Manager’s approval
• Maintain an adequate inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment
• Reports maintenance concerns for repairs on vacant and common areas to the Property Manager
• Maintaining grounds and common areas and keeping them free of trash and debris
• Assists Property Manager with unit turnover and maintenance
• Answer emergency calls and provide “on call” support when necessary (rotating schedule)
• Assist with grounds and snow removals as needed
• Track and log work-order progress using property management software and other technology
• Maintain the shop and storage areas in a clean, orderly and secure manner

Qualifications and Experience

• Must be able to navigate a smartphone, tablet, and work-order software
• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and digitally
• Customer service oriented
• Property maintenance experience
• Experience working as a team and working independently
• Organization – ability to coordinate schedules and orders and maintain an organized shop
• Must have experience in the use of all maintenance equipment and tools
• Must have a good history of dependability and job performance
• Be able to pass a background check before employment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
