Job summary

Valiant Residential in Denver seeks a Roving Assistant Maintenance to support the maintenance supervisor. You will help maintain property integrity, perform routine and minor repairs, and assist the leasing team to maximize renewals and leasing opportunities while prioritizing safety and policy compliance.

This role requires basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC knowledge, a high school diploma, EPA certification, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel between properties.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a related trade requiring basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• EPA (refrigerant, transition, and recovery certification) required.
• Strong English communication skills; bilingual Spanish a plus.
• Own a basic set of hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record and auto insurance.
• Ability to travel between major metropolitan areas and occasional overnight stays.
• Ability to work some weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests within 24 hours when possible.
• Manage system for handling resident service requests and on-call rotation.
• Ensure safety and compliance with policies; maintain property condition.
• Assist in distributing flyers and materials.
• Keep safety materials current and inspect property for hazards.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance, service requests, and make-ready status.
• Schedule and perform routine maintenance on equipment and inspect tools.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and related systems.
• Participate in standby emergency schedules and after-hours coverage.
• Prepare property for inspections and assist with additional duties as assigned by management.
