Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Route Supervisor in Ohio to oversee a team of drivers and ensure safe, efficient service to customers. Responsibilities include coaching, route planning, and maintaining compliance with safety standards.

The role requires CDL and DOT/OSHA knowledge, with a focus on driving performance, attendance tracking, and incident investigations. Candidates should be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead and develop a team.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Knowledge of the area with the ability to read maps.
• Must be able to make decisions and resolve problems.
• Knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers.
• Train, coach, and direct employees to improve their overall performance.
• Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceeded.
• Run routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns).
• Monitor and track employee attendance and all other required documentation relating to performance management.
• Perform and monitor driver observations and vehicle inspections.
• Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up on daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards.
• Conduct investigations for accidents, injuries, and property damage claims.
• Fill in during the absence of other supervisors/office employees or drivers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
